long does it take for a design to be completed?
The timescale of any project is dictated
by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will endeavour
to meet it for you. The most common
delay in the creation of a site is waiting for content
(text/images) to be sent to us. Content is key to the success of a site. If you
have colour schemes in mind or if you like the look of
some of your competitors sites we can ensure the site meets
your requirements.

I
would like you to design my site, what do I need to
do now/what is the process?
If you would like us to design a
site for you all you need to do is let us know the domain
name you would like to use and send us a brief idea of
your requirements. We will then send you a questionnaire
to ensure we meet all your design requirements. We will
check that the domain name has not been registered by another
company and purchase it for you. With your brief we will
then design the site for you.

I need to buy a domain name and hosting?
No, we do everything for you it is
all included in the price.

How
much will it cost?
The
cost of a web site varies, depending upon the type of site
you require. A basic site will cost
£250.00 this includes 5 pages. Have
a look at our packages. The
price we say is the price you pay. No hidden extras
everything is included. .
We request a 25% deposit in all cases and you can pay the
balance by direct debit and spread the cost over the year.
Future years you only pay for hosting and maintenance which
for a basic package costs £100 per year.

happens when I complete your contact form?
When you complete the online contact
form, please provide a brief outline of your requirements.
We will then mail you back promptly with an idea of
price/timescale and any suggestions with regard to your
project. You are not obliged to use our services at any
stage during this process. Please feel free to
use the form to ask any questions you may have. We
do not share your information with anyone else.

FTP (file Transfer
Protocol) this
is a method of transferring files (web pages) from your
local PC to your web server. When a hosting package is
purchased "ftp details", consisting of the host name, user
ID and password are sent to us. Upon completion of the
web site and receipt of payment we then send these details
onto the client.

seen on the world wide web. Web Hosting is in effect rented
space on a server.
After purchasing your domain name, you will need hosting
to be able to display your web site on the internet. All
this is included in any of the web packages you buy from
Afresh Web Solutions.

is a domain?
Every computer connected to the internet is identified
by a unique IP address (such as 255.132.245.12). It quickly
became apparent that these numbers weren't too meaningful
and as the net grew in popularity it became important to
have more memorable ways of identifying the servers. Hence
the domain name - unique identifiers that point to specific
IP addresses.
The "address" or URL of a particular Web site. This
is also how you describe the name that is at the right
of the @ sign in an Internet address. For example,
www.afreshwebsolutions.co.uk is the domain name of
this site.
Domain names are divided into different
categories: .co.uk, .com, .net, .org, .edu, .fr, .uk, etc.

do I get listed in Google?
We
will submit any website we design to all the major search
engines. Including Google, Yahoo,
MSN. We also submit to as many free listings as we can,
this ensures you get higher up in the search engines.

is site optimisation?
All web pages
should be "optimised". This will enable your
site to gain a high search engine ranking, it revolves
around the meta tags on which we embed in the coding of
your web site. This includes key words, description of
site, and CSS style sheets. If a web page is not optimised
it is not guaranteed to be listed in the search engines. Afresh
Web Solutions include web site optimisation as standard.
By making your web pages search engine-friendly you
stand a far greater chance of climbing up the results
ladder - and winning more traffic. If you consider that
around 80 per cent of first time visitors to your site
will come in from one of the major search engines, the
implications do not require to be spelt out.

we need to have a meeting?
In the majority
of cases a meeting isn't necessary and 80% of our sites
are generally completed with contact via email and telephone
only.
Here at Afresh Web Solutions we would gladly meet
up with the client if you prefer to deal with us face
to face.

after sales support do you offer?
After the completion of a web site
we are available for after sales services. Depending on
the package you have bought you will receive free amendments
relating to that package. For instance the Bronze package
you receive 5 updates per year. We will email you throughout
the year reminding you how many updates you have left.
Also the hosting package includes free online support to
any questions you may have. Any updates after your yearly
allocation will be charged at £20 per hour.

Yes. A contract will be sent to you
before any payment or work is carried out.

What
is a favicon?
A favicon is a small image placed in the
web site root directory. It is 16x16 pixels in
dimensions (a very small image) and usually acts as a web
site identifier if it contains the logo, a part of the
logo or the web site colors.
The favicon image is stored along the web site URL in the Favorites or Bookmarks folder.
The latest versions of Netscape (7.0) and Mozilla web browsers
also display the favicon in front of the URL in the location
field and on Tabs. Refer image below:
